« A man from the future » est une biographie audio-musicale d’Alan Turing, pionnier de l’informatique et décrypteur de codes, écrite par les Pet Shop Boys en collaboration avec le professeur Andrew Hodges, biographe de Turing.

Initialement présentée dans le cadre des BBC Proms en juillet 2014 au Royal Albert Hall, avec le BBC Concert Orchestra, les BBC Singers et la narration de l’actrice Juliet Stevenson. Elle a été révisée et réarrangée dans cette nouvelle production par les Pet Shop Boys et Sven Helbig.

Les Pet Shop Boys ont enregistré l’album l’année dernière entre le Royaume-Uni et l'Allemagne avec l’octet et les coeurs de la Manchester Camerata et Juliet Stevenson pour la narration. Les arrangements pour cordes et voix sont signés Sven Helbig
